What's Inside a Classroom Kit
These simple tools are proven to save lives before EMS arrives. Each kit costs $100.
2 Tourniquets

A tourniquet is a medical device used to stop severe bleeding from an arm or leg when direct pressure isn’t enough. It works by tightening around the limb to temporarily cut off blood flow, buying critical time until emergency help arrives.
2 Compression Gauze

Compression gauze is a tightly woven bandage used to pack deep wounds and apply firm pressure to control bleeding. It fills the wound, absorbs blood, and helps create the pressure needed to stop bleeding when a tourniquet can’t be used.
2 Sterile Gauze Rolls

Sterile Gauze Rolls or Kerlix is a soft, absorbent medical gauze roll used to wrap and secure packed wounds. In a bleeding control kit, it helps maintain pressure on the injury and keeps other wound-packing materials in place until EMS arrives.
Trauma Shears

Trauma shears are needed to quickly cut clothing and expose the injury so bleeding can be controlled fast and effectively. In an emergency, you can’t treat what you can’t see—scissors make immediate access possible.
Gloves

Gloves protect the responder by creating a barrier against blood and bodily fluids, ensuring bleeding can be treated quickly and safely.
Instruction Card

An instruction card provides simple, step-by-step guidance so anyone—regardless of training—can act quickly and confidently during a bleeding emergency.
